A 12oz denim or a 300gsm fleece will outlast a flimsy 8oz version by years. Heavier weaves resist pilling and hold their shape wash after wash. If a spec sheet lists the fabric weight, that's usually a good sign the brand cares.

Size for the break-in

Leather sneakers like the Dunk or 550 loosen up about half a size. Raw denim relaxes at the waist and thigh. When you're between sizes on these, size down. Technical running shoes like the Gel-Kayano run true — stick to your usual.

Prioritize repairable over disposable

Jackets with replaceable zippers, resoleable shoes, and fleeces you can patch are worth the extra $20 upfront. A Carhartt jacket you re-wax every few seasons costs less per wear than three fast-fashion coats.

The stuff people email us about most.

How do your sizes run?

Most of our apparel is true to size and we list measured chest/waist specs on each product page. The exceptions: New Balance 550 runs about half a size large (size down), and raw Levi's 501s will relax at the waist after a few wears. When in doubt, email us the item and your usual size and we'll give you a straight answer.

What's your return policy?

60 days from delivery, on unworn items with tags attached. Returns are free within the US. Try things on indoors on a clean floor and you're fine — we just can't take back shoes that have obviously been worn outside. Refunds hit your card within 3–5 business days of us receiving the package.

Is everything authentic?

Yes. We buy directly from the brands and authorized distributors — never grey-market or third-party marketplaces. Every pair of sneakers ships with its original box and tags.

Do you offer repairs or care advice?

We don't do repairs in-house, but we'll point you to the brand's program — Patagonia and Carhartt both repair their own gear. For care, each product page has washing and storage notes, and we're happy to walk you through re-waxing a jacket or conditioning leather over email.

How long does shipping take?

Standard shipping is 3–5 business days and free over $75. Orders placed before 2pm ET ship the same day. Expedited 2-day is available at checkout for $12.
